  When I had my initial appointment at Thrive I was convinced that I was taking the easy way out and that the program was a hoax and would never work. I had always been somewhat athletic-hiking, biking, and always outdoors doing something. I ate right and was extremely frustrated! My weight began to change when I turned 40. It crept up, unknowingly, 3 or 4 pounds a year until suddenly….I was 25 pounds overweight. Nothing I did made more than a 2 or 3 pound difference. I went to Thrive as a last resort. I never thought I would be the person visiting a weight loss clinic! As I sat in the chair with Lanie, while she explained the program and how it worked – really worked, I cried. I felt so ashamed to even be there. Lanie was so kind and gentle. She explained to me that my issues with weight gain were about my biology, hormones, a 40 year old metabolism and that it wasn’t because I was a sloth; like I felt! I left Thrive with hope! I began the treatment, the shots are super easy to give yourself, and I stuck to the diet. I was never hungry! On day three, I woke up and weighed myself and lost 2lbs. Day five, another 1lb. Day six, another 2 lbs……… By the end of week six I had lost 25 pounds and was wearing a size 4. Not only did I lose weight, but my body shape changed. My muscle was strong and lean – only the fat was gone. That was two years ago in August! Keeping the weight off has been effortless for me. I eat and drink, still very healthy, but normal for me. Visiting Thrive was the best decision I ever made. My life is back, my confidence is back and I have met people who truly care about me and my health. Thank you Lanie and Doug! I love you both!
